When camping, your crockpot is the perfect tool to make the experience easier, tastier, and more efficient – giving you time to make more memories!
For us, breakfasts are the toughest meal of the day. It’s always tough to get going after a night on a mattress, and when the kids are up SUPER early, so we we camp, the only two requirements for breakfast is that they are filling and simple.
This is where the crockpot comes in. It’s the perfect thing to set up at night, and then enjoy in the morning, and this casserole doesn’t dissapoint. It’s cheesy hashbrowns with ham that combine to form the perfect combination of crunchy and creamy, balanced out by some fruit and coffee first thing in the morning.
It’s super simple to make, just combine all of the ingredients except the ham in the crockpot, then place the ham inside an aluminum foil packet on top of the rest of the food. (We do this so that the ham flavor doesn’t overpower the rest of the meal) Most ham comes fully cured from the grocery store, to the intent isn’t to cook it, but to let it warm up so it combines easily with the rest of the casserole.
