You’ve selected the perfect spot for your family camping trip. The tent is phenomenal, you’ve scoped out nearby activities, the kids are excited, and you’re maybe even starting to look forward to the trip.
But now, you have to pack.
Packing for a camping trip with kids is no small feat! Sure, you would love to be able to jet off the an all-inclusive resort, pack minimal clothing, and call it done, but let’s be real: you’ve chosen a vacation that is not only more frugal, but that will help you family bond like no other vacation could.
I’m not going to lie – packing used to scare me. What if I forgot something out in the boonies? What if the food spoiled? What if we ran out of bug spray? Just ask my husband. I was used to be an absolute nightmare in the days leading up to a camping trip. Usually, we would get in a humongous fight approximately 3 hours before leaving that soured the whole entire trip.
But, I decided to put a stop to that.
I put together the most comprehensive list of camping supplies/gear/equipment I have ever seen so that I could get started packing a few days ahead, leave a few things in the camping tote because they’re only for camping, and basically be a saner person when packing for a camping trip with kiddos.
I’ve given you a sneak preview of the free camping with kids packing list below, but to get the full list, fill out the box below!

I love having a list so I can check and re check to make sure I dont forget anything I hate to forget and have to 1 turn around or 2 make an extra stop to buy something I already have at home. Thanks for sharing on Holiday Fun.
Thank you so much for this. I’m camping for the first time this year. Very excited!
