It seems like just last week I was writing about how I couldn’t believe it was already June, and here I am again, writing about how I can’t believe we’re only a few days away from the 4th of July!
Those people that told me time would go by faster as I got older were definitely NOT lying.
Especially during the summer, I feel how fast the time flies, and if your children are in school, I can only imagine that you feel that pull to make the most of your time even more than I do!
Thankfully, there is no shortage of things to do if you enjoy being outside: playdates, swimming, parks, free community events, and the zoo, to name a few. And even though it’s hot in almost every area of the country, we are (and hopefully you too!) starting to acclimate to the heat and playing outside is actually becoming enjoyable!
The timing for acclimating is just perfect, since we’re heading into a 6 day camping trip in southern Missouri, and the heat is predicted to be 95+ each day. If it rains, we’ll also have the humidity the contend with.
But complaining aside, it should be a great trip to Sam A. Baker State park (prep post coming tomorrow!) – and a far cry from our disappointing trip to Rustic Acres last month. It should be a nice, relaxing time before we head into what is shaping up to be a crazy July and August.
For us, the first few days of July will be filled with camping since we’re not coming home from camping until July 5th. Then we’re home for 7 work days, at which point my husband will leave for the last 2 weeks of July for his Annual Training with the National Guard.
When he gets home, 3 days later on August 3rd, we’re closing on our new house (fingers crossed!), and will hopefully be packed up and ready to move in just in time to leave for Disney on August 14th.
How’s that for crazy?
So needless to say this camping trip is coming at a great time, but I can’t relax until I get the meal plan out to you!
This plan is 6 days, designed around our 4th of July camping trip, but it can be used any time of the year. Simply sign up using the form below and you’ll instantly receive an email not only to the 6 Day Camping Meal Plan, Shopping List, and Prep Checklist, but also quick links to every single printable I’ve every handed out.
You will need a few recipes for this meal plan, as always. Here’s where you can print them:
- Have It All Breakfast Burritos
- Fruity Campfire French Toast
- Biscuit Pull-Aparts
- Walking Tacos
- Campfire Potatoes
- Marinated Kebobs with Italian Grilled Corn
- Campfire Mac ‘n Cheese
- Chicken Spedini Foil Packs
- Best Ever Crockpot Ranch Chili
There are quite a few recipes this time, but if you forget one, you can always come back to this page to pull them up on your phone. Or, like me you can bring them up on your phone and then screenshot the recipe so if cell reception isn’t great you’ll still have the recipe – but with minimal paper.
A few other items you might need:
- Slow Cooker Liners
- Aluminum Foil
- Corn Pokers
- Disposable Loaf Pans
I also highly suggest purchasing some plastic or silicone plates/bowls/cups/silverware (like these) strictly for camping since you probably don’t want to take your good dishes, and disposable isn’t always the way to go!
Now, on to the free camping meal plan!
