Whether you’re camping in the deep woods or just chilling around a fire pit in your back yard, making desserts over a fire result in some of the ooey-est, gooiest, yummies desserts I have ever tasted.
Sure, you could send me to New York for arguable the world’s best cheesecake, or to Boston for Bananas Foster, or anywhere else with a famous dessert. And, while I would enjoy them, my favorites would still be campfire desserts.
Below, I’ve listed some of the most decadent campfire desserts that are fun for all ages!
Campfire S’mores
What is better than chocolate, marshmallow, and peanut butter, all melted inside of a waffle cone? Literally nothing! These campfire cones are not only super easy to make, but they kind of help “contain” the typical s’mores mess! For the recipe, head over to Mother’s Niche.
Campfire Monkey Bread
I love monkey bread any time of the year, but being able to indulge in that ooey-gooey, cinnamon and buttery treat over a campfire after a long and hot day is amazing! For the full recipe, head over to Camping with Kids.
S’Mores Hacks
Did you know that you can use nutella, on your s’mores, built them in a banana, make them with peach, brie, and dark chocolate, make them with cookie dough, dip them in Bailey’s, make them with fudge striped cookies, or any number of other crazy different ways? Check out this awesome list of s’mores hacks from Buzzfeed.
Campfire Apple Crisp
Apple crisp is delicious and refreshing, but making it ahead and taking it along to the campsite can be difficult and messy. Bring the ingredients along and make it over the campfire for an awesome camping dessert. For the full recipe head over to Cooking with Jax.
Marshmallow Covered Strawberries
I admit, I was nervous about these, but we tried them on our last camping trip and they were a hit! Simply dip the strawberries in marshmallow fluff, roast over the fire, and eat when cool! For the full recipes, head over to Survival Life.
Blueberry Cobbler – Campfire Style
Use a throwaway pan with cobbler filling and biscuits over the top for a delicious and easy dessert. For the full recipes, head over to Tablespoon.
Campfire Eclairs
I was doubtful – I mean I can’t even make an eclair in my regular kitchen, much less out in the elements and over a campfire! But, since they use refrigerated crescent rolls, they’re so much easier! For the full recipe, head over to Bigler’s Recipes.
Campfire Donuts
Use canned biscuit dough to make fresh donuts over the campfire? Yes please! Get the full recipe at The Camp Gal.
Skillet Brownies
These just look so yummy, don’t they? I just had to include them! Get the full recipe at Simply Food Love.
Camp Tiramisu
My favorite italian dessert is now available by campfire! This version includes some shortcuts to make it easier to prepare over a campfire. Get the full recipe at Mother Nature Network.
Skillet Cookies
An oldie, but a goodie, skillet cookies are hit no matter what crowd you’re camping with. Get the full recipe at Add A Pinch.
Which of these camping desserts have you tried? Any recipes that I should add?
